WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Not-for-Profit Hospital Corporation (commonly known as United Medical Center (UMC)), announced today the appointment of an interim Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to oversee the hospital’s physician and hospitalist staff.
Dr. Eric Li, currently serves as the Chairman of Pathology at UMC and is a seasoned pathologist with 25 years of clinical experience. He joined UMC in 2016 overseeing Anatomical and Clinical Pathology services. His previous experience includes an attending pathologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center/Weeks Hospital; a pathologist with a number of regional hospitals; and director of the Department of Pathology at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, New York.
Dr. Li received his M.D. from Peking Union Medical College at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Beijing, China. He completed a fellowship in Hepatic and Gastrointestinal Pathology at John Hopkins Hospital. He is registered with the Board of Registration in Washington, D.C. and is a Diplomat with the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology.
