In January 2009, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations awarded UMC its Gold Seal of Approval. This means that UMC complies with the highest national standards for safety and quality of care, and is committed to continually improving patient care.

The UMC laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists.
United Medical Center’s blood bank and transfusion service is accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks.
The UMC Radiology Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology and licensed by United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Our mammography services are evaluated annually by the Food and Drug Administration and fully comply with the Mammography Quality Standards Act. The 64 Channel General Electric Revolution EVO CT Scanner was awarded full accreditation for adult and pediatric head/neck, chest and abdomen procedures from the American College of Radiology.
