WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Not-for-Profit Hospital Corporation, commonly known as United Medical Center (UMC), announced today that UMC’s Medical Staff Office received full accreditation on first review by the Medchi Continuing Medical Education Review Committee. To receive full accreditation on first review validates the quality, integrity and excellence of the hospital’s weekly grand grounds programs. Continuing medical education (CME) is a critical component of physician licensure.
“Medical education is the cornerstone of physician excellence in all specialties,” noted Raymond K. Tu, M.D., M.S., F.A.C.R. who chaired the CME Committee during the review. “UMC’s Medical Staff Office under the leadership of Ms. Sarah Davis and Ms. Ceron Rust, brings pride to all UMC medical staff where we strive to provide the best care possible to all District of Columbia residents particularly those at the east end of the city in Wards 7 and 8. Our medical education program is the most extensive and largest in the east end of the city and open to all UMC and area physicians.”
